Russian parliament speaker ready to give speech at European Parliament

MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. Russian State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin has said he is ready to give a speech at the European Parliament and answer all question of MEPs.

"Talking about me, tell your colleagues - I am ready to come and give a speech, answer questions and support you in your efforts on establishing dialogue between the Russian parliament and European Parliament," Naryshkin said at an Inter-Parliamentary Forum in Moscow, commenting on the speech of MEP Nadine Morano.

Morano, who heads an informal group in the European Parliament advocating dialogue with Russia, said she would be glad if Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a speech at the European Parliament. "We would like to hear his arguments and his position," she added.

Naryshkin noted that he does not know whether Putin will be able to accept Moreno’s invitation and give a speech at the European Parliament.
