Head of Gagauzia Evghenia Gutul said that Moldovan President Maia Sandu wants to break them off and drag the country into a war

CHISINAU, March 7. /TASS/. Moscow is interested in friendly relations with Chisinau, while Moldovan President Maia Sandu wants to break them off and drag the country into a war, Head of Gagauzia Evghenia Gutul said.

Commenting on her meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the World Youth Festival (WYF) in Sirius, the politician wrote on her Telegram channel: "Russia is interested in friendly and long-term ties with Moldova - this is the most important thing that I gathered following a meeting with the Russian leader. Yet Maia Sandu is doing everything possible to drag our country into a war and completely break off relations with strategic partners, including the Russian Federation.".

Russia is interested in having friendly relations with Moldova whereas Moldovan President Maia Sandu wants to sever them and drag the country into a war, Evghenia Gutul added.

"Russia is interested in maintaining friendly and long-term relations with Moldova - this is the most important thing I understood after the conversation with the Russian leader. But Maia Sandu is sparing no effort to drag our country into the war and ultimately break relations with strategic partners, including Russia," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov toold TASS earlier that Putin met with Gutul on the margins of the World Youth Festival. Following this meeting, Moldova’s acting Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu said that he plans to lodge a criminal case against Gutul with court. Moldovan opposition leader IIan Shor warned that Chisinau is planning to arrest the Gagauz leader immediately after her return from Russia.
