TEL AVIV, November 7. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has postponed his visit to Israel indefinitely The Times of Israel reported on Tuesday, citing an Israeli diplomatic source.
According to the source, the Ukrainian leader has not dropped his plans of visiting Israel but the date has not yet been agreed upon.
The newspaper reported on November 5 that Zelensky planned to visit Israel next week but was disappointed over the leak to Israel’s Channel 12 news. Two days prior to that, on November 3, the television channel reported that Zelensky was expected to visit Israel on November 6 and 7. It cited diplomatic sources as saying that Israel and Ukraine had discussed Zelensky’s possible visit at a high level. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s media outlet Strana said on November 3, citing a source in the Ukrainian cabinet, that Zelensky would not go to Israel next week.
A couple of weeks ago, Zelensky expressed his desire to visit Israel to show solidarity amid the new escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Back then, the Israeli authorities made it clear that such a visit would not be appropriate at this time, the TV channel recalled.
