Police detain 92 Armenian activists demanding prime minister’s resignation

Opposition forces launched rallies of disobedience on May 5

YEREVAN, May 5. /TASS/. Police in Armenia detained 92 activists on Thursday during acts of civil disobedience, in which protesters blocked streets demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the police press service reported.

"As of 15:00 (14:00 Moscow time), 92 citizens were taken to various police stations for failing to comply with the legal requirements of the police," the press service said.

Opposition forces of Armenia launched rallies of disobedience on Thursday morning, blocking streets as well as highways in the regions. They demand the resignation of Pashinyan, who, according to them, wants "to leave Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan". In the evening, protesters plan to get together for a major rally in Yerevan’s France Square.
