International Space Station dodges space debris

At 16:25 Moscow time, Roscosmos performed an unplanned adjustment of the orbit’s height

ISS, April 23. /TASS/. The orbit of the International Space Station (ISS) was adjusted on Saturday using the engines of the Progress MS-18 spaceship in order to avoid space debris, Roscosmos said.

"The space debris is behind, the Russian Progress prevented the ISS from encountering it. At 16:25 Moscow time, Roscosmos performed an unplanned adjustment of the orbit’s height," according to the state corporation’s statement on its Telegram channel.

On November 17, 2021, Russia’s world-renowned TASS news agency and the State Space Corporation Roscosmos signed a memorandum of cooperation, under which a TASS news office was established aboard the ISS. Presently, cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev is heading the outer space-based branch. Cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin was the first TASS special reporter in space. His flight lasted 12 days.
