MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Russia’s southern Bryansk region will reinforce the protection of border with Ukraine, the region’s governor, Alexander Bogomaz, said on Tuesday after inspecting border areas.
"Together with Commander of the Land Troops Army General Oleg Salyukov, we visited border areas. We discussed issues of additional measures to enhance border protection with weapons and army units. All measures to reinforce land forces on the territoryof our region will be taken within short timeframes," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Bogomaz, Salyukov inspected defense facilities erected along the border.
On March 2, Ukrainian saboteurs penetrated into a border district in the Bryansk region. According to official data, two people were killed. According to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), its officers together with the Russian defense ministry forces took "measures to neutralize the armed Ukrainian nationalists who violated the state border." President Putin described the incident as a terror attack.
