West refuses to accept proof of Ukraine’s use of chemical weapons — Russian envoy

Vladimir Tarabrin noted that instead, the West is trying to present Russia as violating the Chemical Weapons Convention

THE HAGUE, November 29. /TASS/. Western countries completely reject Russia’s evidence and warnings about the use of chemical weapons by the Kiev regime, Russian Ambassador to the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Vladimir Tarabrin told reporters.

"It is quite expected that we are encountering the West’s complete aversion to accepting this," he noted, commenting on the results of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CSP-29) held in The Hague. "This is rather obvious - the political climate does not let the US and its allies criticize any illegal actions of their charges," the diplomat explained. He noted that instead, the West is trying to present Russia as violating the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).

"Fortunately, the majority of independently thinking countries in the OPCW have a clear assessment of the situation and support the observance of the convention’s letter and spirit," Tarabrin stressed. "A number of countries expressed concern with regard to documents provided by Russia on the use or preparations to use chemical weapons in the zone of the special military operation," he added.

In this context, the envoy expressed hope that the OPCW Technical Secretariat will not be drawn into political games and will act impartially, objectively and professionally.
