Assault on Russian envoy in Poland confirms West’s aim to revive Nazism — Russian diplomat

It is reported that earlier, Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreyev was assaulted when trying to lay flowers at a Soviet military memorial cemetery in Warsaw

MOSCOW, May 9. /TASS/. An assault on the Russian ambassador to Warsaw at a wreath-laying ceremony at a Soviet military memorial cemetery makes it clear that the West has set a course to revive Nazism, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on Telegram on Monday.

"The fans of neo-Nazism have once again shown their true face, all covered in blood," she pointed out. "The demolition of monuments to World War II heroes, the desecration of graves, and now, the disruption of a flower-laying ceremony on a day that is sacred for every decent person, confirm what is already clear: the West has set a course to revive Nazism," Zakharova noted. She stressed that attempts to intimidate Russians would lead nowhere. "It is European residents that should be scared of looking in the mirror," she said.

According to a TASS correspondent, Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreyev was assaulted when trying to lay flowers at a Soviet military memorial cemetery in Warsaw earlier on Monday. Red paint was poured on the envoy, his wife and a group of Russian diplomats who were also prevented from coming up to a Soviet memorial. Andreyev told reporters that no one had suffered serious damage in the assault.
