Question about US research into anthrax in Ukraine still open — Russian miliary

Igor Kirillov stressed that one of the priorities of the US contractors was a highly contagious anthrax pathogen resistible to the environment

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. The question about the Pentagon’s anthrax research that was conducted in Ukraine and its real aims remains open, the chief of Russia’s radiation, chemical and biological protection force, Igor Kirillov, said on Wednesday.

"In the light of the favorable anthrax epidemiological situation in Ukraine the question arises how necessary the Pentagon’s research was and what its real purposes were," Kirillov said at an Arria formula meeting of UN Security Council members devoted to threats to international security from military biological activity around the world.

Kirillov stressed that one of the priorities of the US contractors was a highly contagious anthrax pathogen resistible to the environment.
