ORENBURG, April 10. /TASS/. The level of the Ural River near Orenburg has increased by 12 cm to 1,022 cm, the city’s emergency services told TASS.
"At 8:00 p.m. (3:00 p.m. GMT), 10 m 22 cm was reported," the service said. The danger mark is at 930 cm.
Meanwhile, Orenburg Mayor Sergey Salmin wrote on his Telegram channel that the city’s South Ural water intake facility was not currently jeopardized and that the water treatment facilities were operating as usual. However, floodwaters have reached apartment buildings.
"At present, there is no risk of stopping the South Ural Water Intake Facility in Orenburg, the water treatment facilities are also operating as usual. The Ural is overflowing its banks. The water reached apartment buildings <…>, but there is no risk of flooding now," Salmin said in a video address.
