Military medics working with COVID-19 patients to receive lump-sum payment

MOSCOW, February 1. /TASS/. Military medics, members of the Interior Ministry, the Federal Penitentiary Service, Russia’s National Guard and the State Fire Service who provide aid to coronavirus patients and transport such patients will receive a lump-sum payment of 68,800 rubles (over $900), the decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday said.

"The amount of a one-time payment stipulated by this decree is 68,800 rubles," the document reads.

It explains that the basis for a one-time payment is a release of a medical worker or an individual transporting patients from military duty and hospital treatment for coronavirus-related conditions or complications.

The decree becomes effective on February 1 and encompasses legal relations arising on or after March 1, 2020.
