Hainan’s green car manufacturers set to boost global market presence

HAIKOU /China/, November 23. /TASS/. Manufacturers of ecological cars in South China's Hainan Province are planning to boost supplies of their products to foreign markets, the Haikou Daily newspaper.

The newspaper mentions two PRC companies whose production facilities are located in the national high-tech industrial development zone of Haikou (the administrative center of the province). In particular, it refers to the Chinese supplier of electric cars Kandi Technologies and the company Haima Motor, engaged in the production of passenger cars on hydrogen fuel.

The technopark management commented that local authorities are going to stimulate the formation of an advanced cluster a market capitalization surpassing $1 billion. Simultaneously, assembly plants are to be set up in other countries. For example, Haima Motor has already agreed on a project to produce the 7X-E model in Myanmar.

According to the newspaper, the island-based green car manufacturers intend to expand their presence in the Southeast Asian market in the future. The Hainan Free Trade Port is expected to actively support this.

Automotive companies that have chosen the southernmost province of China to locate their design centers and industrial facilities are ready to offer a diverse line of products. Kandi Technologies, for example, has already set up deliveries of next-generation eco-friendly golf cars to the United States. "We are organizing production based on the orders that come from the external market. Now our maximum capacity reaches 3,000 cars per month," the Haikou division of this company commented.
