MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. Russia's Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism) will submit proposals on support of tourism industry in the Crimea to the Russian government in the coming days, the agency’s head Zarina Doguzova reported on her Telegram channel.
"Rostourism, on the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, together with the Crimea and Sevastopol in the coming days will submit proposals to the government to support the tourism industry on the peninsula," she wrote.
The Rostourism head recalled that on October 8 there were about 50,000 tourists in the Crimea and Sevastopol. Citizens, whose trip to the Crimea ended on October 8, got a free one-day extension of stay in hotels. About 1,000 people have taken advantage of the opportunity. According to the region's information, all businesses are sympathetic to the situation. As for the tourists, who were planning to go to the Crimea and Sevastopol, there are no transport restrictions for them now.
Traffic on the Crimean bridge has been resumed for cars with a full inspection procedure. Tourists going by car can freely travel to and from the Crimea.
Bus traffic is temporarily carried out through the ferry crossing. Railroad communication via the Crimean bridge has been restored to its former volume. It is also possible to buy tickets to the Crimea and back without restrictions, the Rostourism head added.
Situation on Crimean bridge
On Saturday morning, a truck exploded on the Crimean Bridge, collapsing two eastbound parts of its road section and subsequently setting ablaze a train of fuel tanks on a separate, adjacent rail portion of the bridge. As a result of the blast, three people were killed. A government commission chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin was set up after the incident. Rail traffic has been restored on the bridge, which was also partly reopened for buses and automobiles.
