MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is already holding meetings in Uzbekistan, and a press conference following full-format talks is expected to take place, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik Radio.

According to her, the two countries’ foreign ministers are already holding a meeting, "and full-format negotiations will begin on Wednesday morning." "There will be meetings, and a news conference," the diplomat added.

Earlier reports said that Lavrov will discuss bilateral relations, Eurasian integration, and arrangements for festivities to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War with the Uzbek leadership on Wednesday. The Uzbek foreign minister wrote on his Telegram channel that he planned to hold talks with Lavrov in Samarkand.

"We plan to hold meaningful talks on a wide range of issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda. We expect to develop comprehensive cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia for the benefit of our peoples," Saidov said.
