One dead, 16 injured in road accident near Vladimir

VLADIMIR, March 2. / TASS /. The number of injured in a collision of a minibus and a truck on the M-7 highway in the Vladimir region increased to 16. In total, according to updated data, 17 people were involved in the bus cabin, the regional police department told TASS on Monday.

"According to the latest data, 16 people were injured - 15 passengers and one driver," the agency’s source said, adding that 17 people were on the bus. One person died of the sustained injuries.

The Police Department explained that Mercedes Sprinter minibus from the Chuvash Republic and a Mercedes truck from the Republic of Mordovia collided. The accident occurred around 03:20 Moscow time in the city of Gorokhovets on the 335th kilometer of the M-7 Volga highway. "Basically the passengers have injuries of various severity. Fractures, bruises," emergency room representative told TASS.

According to the police, there are no children among the victims. On March 2, according to the forecast, the weather is icy, foggy; air temperature at night varies from -2C to +3C.
