European UGS may have lower deliverability due to high withdrawal rate — Gazprom

According to the Russian gas holding, this elevates risks for reliable gas supplies to consumers

MOSCOW, November 5. /TASS/. High natural gas withdrawal rates from European underground gas storage (UGS) facilities at the start of the heating season may lead to a decline in their daily performance rate in winter, Gazprom said.

"The high gas withdrawal rate from UGS facilities at the start of the season creates preconditions for the decline of their maximum deliverability rate in the winter period, particularly in conditions of the peak winter demand. This elevates risks for reliable gas supplies to consumers," the Russian gas holding said.

According to Gas Infrastructure Europe referred to by Gazprom, the filling level in European UGS facilities was record low as of the start of the heating season and totaled 74.9%.
