Russia’s National Wealth Fund totals around $150 bln as of December 1 — finance ministry

Currently 3.26 bln euro, 279.77 bln Chinese yuan, 508.26 tons of gold in depersonalized form and 1.187 bln rubles are on accounts of the National Wealth Fund with the Bank of Russia

MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Russia’s National Wealth Fund (NWF) totaled 13.432 trillion rubles as of December 1, 2023, or 9% of GDP projected for 2023, according to a statement released on the Russian Finance Ministry’s website.

"As of December 1, 2023, the National Wealth Fund totaled 13,432,971.8 mln rubles, or 9% of GDP projected for 2023 <…> which equals $151,129.1 mln," the statement reads.

As of December 1, the amount of liquid assets of the NWF was 6.74 trillion rubles (4.5% of GDP projected for 2023). As of November 1, the amount of the NWF’s liquid assets stood at 6.93 trillion rubles.

The total estimated amount of revenues from depositing NWF resources on accounts in foreign currency with the Bank of Russia recalculated to US dollars from December 15, 2022, to November 30, 2023, amounted to $123.5 mln, which is equivalent to 10.98 bln rubles.

The exchange rate difference on NWF’s assets nominated in foreign currency and revaluation of gold, in which the NWF’s resources are invested, totally amounted to 1.972 trillion rubles from January 1 to November 30, 2023.
