Gazprom reduces gas output by 2.5% to 175.4 bcm over 4 months

The average daily export of Gazprom in April decreased by 21.6%

MOSCOW, May 1. /TASS/. Gazprom reduced gas production over 4 months by 2.5% compared to the same period last year to 175.4 bln cubic meters, according to preliminary data. Since the beginning of the year, gas exports to non-CIS countries have fallen by 26.9% or by 18.4 bln cubic meters to 50.1 bln cubic meters.

Gazprom continues to supply gas under the confirmed applications from consumers in full compliance with contractual obligations, the holding noted.

In addition, the average daily export of Gazprom in April decreased by 21.6% compared to March to 386.7 bln cubic meters, the company said.

Gazprom's deliveries from the gas transmission system to the domestic market decreased by 3.7% (by 4.4 bln cubic meters) due to warm weather in February.

At the same time, Gazprom increased gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline by 60% in 4 months of 2022, the holding said. "Gas exports to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline are growing as part of a bilateral long-term contract between Gazprom and CNPC. The volume of supplies for the first four months of 2022 surpassed the same period last year by almost 60%," the report said.

Gazprom, citing data from Gas Infrastructure Europe, noted that as of April 29, gas reserves in European UGS facilities have been replenished by 6.9 bln cubic meters. In order to reach the target storage occupancy level (90%), the EU countries will have to pump another 56 bln cubic meters of gas.
