Iranian diplomat calls on Middle East countries to learn from recent events

Esmaeil Baghaei emphasized that Iran strongly protests Middle Eastern states making their territory "available to aggressors"

TEHRAN, May 18. /TASS/. The Middle East countries, particularly the UAE, must learn lessons from recent events and realize that the US military presence threatens the entire region, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said.

"The countries of the region, especially the UAE, must learn lessons from the events of the past two to three months, because the military presence of the US and the Zionist regime (Israel - TASS) in the region not only fails to contribute to security but also poses a serious threat to these countries' development and economic well-being," he noted during a press conference.

The diplomat emphasized that Iran strongly protests Middle Eastern states making their territory "available to aggressors" and called on its neighbors not to succumb to the influence of Tehran's adversaries "who seek to sow discord among the countries of the region."
