Diplomat warns against believing CNN’s bogus story about Russia’s missile test

"You can’t believe everything that media outlets say, particularly if it concerns CNN, which has completely discredited itself in recent years as it serves the interests of certain groups and certain political elites," Sergey Ryabkov stressed

MOSCOW, February 22. /TASS/. People should not believe all media reports, particularly if they come from CNN, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Wednesday.

When commenting on a CNN report about Russia allegedly failing a test of a Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, Ryabkov said: "A lot of provocative situations have been created recently, some of them going unnoticed by the public, which involved bogus stories that appear plausible at first sight but in fact have nothing to do with reality. The goal is to figure out how officials in a country - this time in Russia - will react to it," he told reporters.

"You can’t believe everything that media outlets say, particularly if it concerns CNN, which has completely discredited itself in recent years as it serves the interests of certain groups and certain political elites," Ryabkov stressed.

"All the information that needs to be made public is provided by the Defense Ministry. Notifications of launches will continue to be made based on the 1988 agreement," he concluded.
