ATHENS, January 22. /TASS/. A Ryanair flight from Poland has landed safely in Athens after sending a bomb threat signal, the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA) reported on Sunday.
According to the agency, a Ryanair Boeing 738 landed at the Athens international airport at 17:40 local time (18:40 Moscow time). The plane was escorted by two Greek F-16 fighter jets, which returned to their home base near the city of Volos after the Boeing landed.
The Boeing was making a regular flight from Poland’s Katowice to Athens.
Passengers and crewmembers were evacuated from the plane, which will be checked by bomb specialists.
According to the Proto Thema newspaper, there were 192 people aboard the plane.
