BEIRUT, November 5. /TASS/. Armed Shiite groups of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq movement attacked a US military base near the al-Omar oil field in the Syrian Deir ez-Zor governorate, the Sham FM radio station reported.

According to the radio station, at least three explosions were heard in the territory of the military facility.

Witnesses say that the Shiite units that are fighting on the part of the Syrian government army used kamikaze drones to attack the US base.

A US and the Western coalition’s military base in Syria’s al-Tanf area was twice attacked on October 27.

A Shiite movement spokesman, Jafar al-Husseini, said earlier that the movement "will help its Palestinian and Lebanese brothers and will intensify attacks on Israel and American facilities in the region.".
