MOSCOW, February 17. /TASS/. Russian forces are slicing through Ukrainian defenses from several directions near Krasnoarmeisk (called Pokrovsk by Ukraine), DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) Head Denis Pushilin said during a live broadcast on the Rossiya-24 television channel on Monday.

"The Krasnoarmeisk direction: the enemy grouping is being cut from several sides and an advance [by Russian troops] is underway and somewhere Krasnoarmeisk is being encircled," he specified.

The DPR head said earlier that Russian troops had cut off the Krasnoarmeisk-Konstantinovka road.
