UK Foreign Office confirms deaths of two Britons near Soledar

According to a statement from Parry’s family, released by the Foreign Office, the two died "whilst attempting a humanitarian evacuation from Soledar, eastern Ukraine"

LONDON, January 25. /TASS/. The United Kingdom’s Foreign Office confirmed that two citizens of the country, Chris Parry and Andrew Bagshaw, had lost their lives near Soledar,

According to a statement from Parry’s family, released by the Foreign Office, the two died "whilst attempting a humanitarian evacuation from Soledar, eastern Ukraine."

The press service of Concord, a company owned by Wagner private military company’s owner Yevgeny Prigozhin, reported on January 11 that a UK citizen, who earlier went missing in Soledar, was found dead. Earlier, the Ukrainian National Police reported that two British mercenaries, Christopher Perry, 28, and Andrew Bagshaw, 48, were last seen on January 6. The UK nationals left Kramatorsk and went to Soledar, then communication with them was lost.

Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on January 12 that Russia will consider the UK’s request for assistance in the matter, but no such request has been submitted as of yet. "In any case, if we receive such a request to render assistance we will certainly consider it," he said. "All we have learned from media reports is that the current issue is about UK nationals, who served as militants, wielded arms participating in combat actions and their documents were allegedly discovered on the battlefield.".
