BELGRADE, February 17. /TASS/. Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Duric has arrived in Moscow for talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov to be held on February 17, according to the top diplomat’s X page.
"I started my visit to Russia with a trip to Christ the Savior Cathedral and the Victory Museum in Moscow," Duric said on his X page. "The visit to Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow - one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world and the most important spiritual and cultural symbol of Russia - reminded us of the strength and importance of the religious, cultural and historical ties between our countries and our peoples," he pointed out.
The Serbian foreign minister emphasized that the Victory Museum on Moscow's Poklonnaya Hill is "a significant historical monument dedicated to the true values and heroic struggle of freedom-loving nations in World War II." "For eight decades, Serbia has adhered to the policy of preserving the memory of the heroic struggle against fascism and Nazism and the fact that the decisive blow to the ideologies of hatred in World War II was struck on the Eastern Front," the top diplomat said.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier that Lavrov will hold talks with Duric on February 17. According to her, the sides discuss bilateral cooperation and multifaceted relations, exchange views on the situation in the Kosovo settlement and the Balkan region as a whole, as well as discuss current international issues.
