Russian PM notes importance of creating common EAEU gas, oil markets

It is noted that few could suggest the scale of price growth consumers around the globe would face

YEREVAN, October 21. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin considers the formation of common energy markets a relevant task for the Eurasian Economic Union’s (EAEU) member-states.

"The issues of the formation of common markets of gas, oil and petroleum products, as well as electricity, remain crucial for all EAEU member-states," he said at a meeting of the Eurasian intergovernmental council on Friday.

"When it was agreed to create them a decade ago, few could suggest the scale of price growth consumers around the globe would face," Mishustin noted, adding that he expected the EAEU "to firmly shield its members from the unfounded hikes in energy prices."
