Death toll from strike on bridge in Iran rises to eight — authorities

95 people were injured

TEHRAN, April 2. /TASS/. The number of civilians killed as a result of US and Israeli strikes on an unfinished bridge in the Iranian city of Karaj, west of Tehran, has risen to eight, Deputy Governor of Alborz Province, Kodratollah Seif, has reported.

"As a result of this horrific crime, 8 residents of Alborz, including residents of the village of Bilekan, passing passengers, and their families who were in the area on Nature's Day, were killed, and 95 people were injured," the Fars agency quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Iranian authorities reported two strikes on the bridge under construction in the city of Karaj, west of Tehran.
