US sanctions vs Russia to affect US political, economic interests — Foreign Ministry

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov says Russia has a calm attitude to new US sanctions

VIENNA, July 17. /ITAR-TASS/. The Russian Foreign Ministry says Russia has “a calm attitude” to the US sanctions, stressing that they will affect the political and economic interests of the United States itself. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stressed on Thursday that “there is no fuss, we have a calm and measured attitude to this.”

The US administration imposed export restrictions on 11 companies in connection with the new sanctions against Russia. The restrictions envisage the introduction of license requirements for the export, re-export or international transactions of goods, falling under export regulation. This provides for the denial of transactions.

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that such actions of the US would impede “the achievement of foreign political and foreign economic goals that they set for themselves.” “Arrogance and cynicism - these two words most precisely characterize the American policy towards Russia,” Ryabkov said, stressing that the US.statements on its commitment to collective approaches are worthless.
