Kiev trying to reassemble front, force Russian army to retreat from Volchansk — expert

Andrey Marochko said that development of combat power is registered in this area, including by assault teams

LUGANSK, March 29. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces’ assault teams consisting of ex-prisoners are trying to reassemble the front and force the Russian army to retreat from Volchansk in the Kharkov Region, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS.

"Regarding the settlement of Volchansk, the Ukrainian militants are trying to force our combat power to retreat from this settlement. Development of combat power is registered in this area, including by assault teams, which <…> consist of ex-prisoners," he said.

Marochko told TASS earlier this week that the Ukrainian military command was reinforcing troops near Volchansk by mobilized convicts, with around 300 of them having been sent there.
