American bases to be targeted if US invades Iran, says Iranian parliament speaker

US Presidential National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated on February 23 that Washington was considering all options regarding Iran’s nuclear program

DUBAI, March 28. /TASS/. American military bases in the Middle East, as well as those of its allies, will come under attack if the United States invades Iran, said Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, Iranian parliament speaker.

"The Americans are well aware of how vulnerable they are. If they invade Iran, it would be like adding a spark to a powder keg, and it would ignite the entire region. In such a case, their bases and those of their allies won’t be safe anymore," the senior Iranian lawmaker said in an address on International Quds Day.

US Presidential National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated on February 23 that Washington was considering all options regarding Iran’s nuclear program. US President Donald Trump later stated that Iran could be prevented from developing nuclear weapons either through bombardment or through a deal. He added that he would prefer to make a deal with Tehran.

International Quds Day (Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem) was established in 1979 on Iran’s initiative as a sign of support for the Palestinian people’s fight for their rights. It is observed annually on the last Friday of the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan. The goal is to attract global attention to the humanitarian issues in Jerusalem and facilitate efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
