Russian forces liberate Gogolevka: situation in Kursk Region

Russian troops are engaged in fighting in the center of Guyevo in the Kursk Region, facing the most skilled units of the Ukrainian army's special operations forces

MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. Russian troops have liberated the settlement of Gogolevka in the Kursk Region, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.

Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian armed forces lost more than 320 soldiers in the Kursk area, with their overall casualties in the region exceeding 70,700.

Operation on liberation

- Units of Russia’s Battlegroup North liberated the settlement of Gogolevka in the Kursk Region during offensive operations.

Ukrainian losses

- Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian army lost more than 320 personnel, five armored combat vehicles, six motor vehicles, two artillery guns, two quad bikes, an electronic reconnaissance station, and three UAV control posts.

- Ukraine’s total losses since the fighting began in the region have amounted to more than 70,700 troops, 402 tanks, 327 infantry fighting vehicles, 290 armored personnel carriers, 2,233 armored combat vehicles, 2,561 motor vehicles, 589 artillery guns, and 53 multiple rocket launchers.

Fighting in Guyevo

- Russian troops are engaged in fighting in the center of Guyevo in the Kursk Region, facing the most skilled units of the Ukrainian army's special operations forces, a source in the security services told TASS.

New criminal investigation

- The Investigative Committee has recognized the attack by the Ukrainian military on civilians evacuating from the Sudzha district as a terrorist act, committee’s Spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko stated.

- According to the Investigative Committee, Ukrainian troops in the Kursk Region’s Sudzha district dropped an explosive device by a drone onto a group of civilians trying to evacuate from Sudzha in March 2025, injuring three people.
