BELGRADE, December 25. /TASS/. Over 500 supporters of the "Borba" ("Fight") student organization, which supports the "Serbia against violence" opposition coalition, partially blocked the Knez Milos Street in downtown Belgrade, causing major traffic jams, N1 reports.
Previously, the protesters rallied at the Bircaninova Street, between the buildings of the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, before moving to the Knez Milos Street, which leads to the buildings of the Presidential Administration and the Parliament. The police have not interfered in the situation yet.
The "Borba" movement supports the "Serbia against violence" coalition and demands that the Ministry of Public Administration reviews the lists of the December 17 parliamentary elections for violations.
Previously, Serbian opposition bloc "Serbia against violence" attempted to assault the Belgrade city administration building. The rioters used flagpoles to dismantle the door, and shattered the windows, throwing beer cans and stones inside. They also destroyed the surveillance cameras. The police dispersed the rioters by midnight.
Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic warned that all opposition protests and provocative statements will yield no results, noting that "the power can change only via elections."
According to Vucic, "there will be no forceful regime change, no matter what the opposition does." The opposition claims their disagreement with the outcome of the Belgrade city parliament election, where the coalition, led by the ruling party, won previously.
