Bosphorus transit suspended due to malfunction of tanker en route to Russia

The Cordelia Moon is 274 meters long and 50 meters wide

ANKARA, December 26. /TASS/. The transit of ships through the Bosphorus Strait has been suspended in both directions due to the malfunction of the Panamanian-flagged tanker Cordelia Moon en route to Novorossiysk.

"The movement of ships through the Bosphorus Strait has been temporarily suspended in both directions due to a malfunction of the Cordelia Moon tanker, which broke down in the area of Cape Yenikoy in the strait while en route from Yalova to Russia," the Turkish Transport Ministry said in a statement.

The Cordelia Moon is 274 meters long and 50 meters wide. Tugboats have arrived to move the ship out of the main channel.
