WASHINGTON, February 24. /TASS/. The United States has imposed sanctions on the operator of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, according to a press statement released by the US Department of State on Friday.
According to the document, Joint Stock Company Operating Organization of Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant has been blacklisted as being "being owned or controlled by, or acting or purporting to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, the Government of the Russian Federation." Sanctions have also been imposed against its Director General Oleg Romanenko.
Apart from that, the sanctions covered three more subsidiaries of Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom, namely Trest Rosspetsenergomontazh, Energospecmontazh JSC, and the Joint Stock Company State Research Center of the Russian Federation Troitsk Institute for Innovation and Fusion Research (Troitsk Institute).
