MURMANSK, March 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has given the signal to float out the Perm nuclear-powered submarine during his visit to the Murmansk Region in Russia’s north, a TASS correspondent reported.
"Go ahead!" the Russian leader said.
The Perm is a Russian fourth-generation multipurpose nuclear-powered submarine. The sub is the sixth in a series of Project 885/885M Yasen-class submarines being constructed at the Sevmash Shipyard for the Russian Navy.
The sub’s keel was laid on July 29, 2016.
As follows from the materials for the trip by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Murmansk, "it is the Perm that will become the first regular carrier of Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missiles among Project 885M nuclear-powered submarines and, in this regard, it will differ slightly in its design from its predecessors.".
