WASHINGTON, November 24. /TASS/. As part of the latest package of military assistance, the US will provide Ukraine with more HARM anti-radar missiles, and additional munitions for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS, and National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems, or NASAMS, the Pentagon said on Wednesday.

In other weapons, the US will supply Ukraine with 150 heavy machine guns to counter unmanned aerial vehicles; 200 precision-guided 155mm artillery rounds; 10,000 120mm mortar rounds; 150 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles; over 100 light tactical vehicles; over 20,000,000 rounds of small arms ammunition; over 200 generators; and spare parts for 105mm Howitzers and other equipment.

The security assistance is valued at up to $400 million. The equipment will come from Pentagon’s inventories. In total, the United States has committed more than $19.7 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the current administration, and more than $21.8 billion since 2014.

On February 24 Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in response to a request for help by the heads of the Donbass republics. The West subsequently imposed sweeping sanctions on Russia and stepped up the shipments of weapons to Kiev, which are worth billions of dollars.
