CHISINAU, November 6. /TASS/. Participants in Sunday’s protest rally in Chisinau have passed a resolution blaming Moldovan President Maia Sandu and the Natalia Gavrilita government for the current economic crisis and demanding their resignation.
"We, participants in the November 6 protests, are calling to a no-confidence vote to the president and the government. We are calling on the police and law enforcement agencies to cease pressure. We demand all rights to assembly and free expression be observed," Dinu Turcanu of the Sor party read out the document.
"The Sandu regime has seized all government agencies, has driven the country to the most serious crisis and has unleashed repressions against the opposition instead of trying to find ways out of the crisis," the document says.
"The president and the Party of Action and Solidarity are acting against the people. Moldova has turned to a police-run state where law enforcement agencies are acting as repressive structures and the authorities putting national security at risk by provoking a warfare in the country," it reads.
In a video address, Sor party leader Ilan Sor said that the country’s leaders are failing to cope with the challenges and have driven the country into an economic and energy crisis.
After the rally, activists brought funeral wreaths to the presidential administration building and burnt utility bills in front of its entryway.
Several thousand people are taking part in opposition protests in Moldova’s capital city Chisinau demanding early parliamentary elections. People are protesting against growing prices on energy sources and degrading living standards. They are demanding resignation of Moldovan President Maia Sandu and the government, as well as urging early parliamentary polls. The protesters are led by lawmakers with the Sor Party and the Party of Communists of Moldova.
