MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. The Russian army has liberated the settlement of Lebedevka in the Kursk Region and the Novenkoye farmstead in the Sumy Region, the Defense Ministry said.
"The settlement of Lebedevka in the Kursk Region and the Novenkoye farmstead in the Sumy Region were liberated as Battlegroup North’s units advanced," the ministry said.
Ukraine’s armed forces lost over 350 troops and a tank in the Kursk area in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
"Over the last 24 hours the Ukrainian armed forces lost more than 350 troops, a tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, five armored fighting vehicles, 19 armored combat vehicles, 29 cars, six field branch artillery weapons, a mortar, an electronic warfare station, an Israel-made Rada radio detector, a counter-obstacle vehicle, as well as 11 drone control posts and an ammunition depot. Six Ukrainian soldiers surrendered," the report said.
The Russian army also repelled two counterattacks by the Ukrainian forces in the Kursk Region in 24 hours, the ministry said.
"Damage was inflicted on groups of one heavy mechanized, five mechanized, an infantry, an assault, two air assault, two territorial defense brigades and two assault regiments of the Ukrainian army near settlements of Argonom, Bogdanovka, Goncharovka, Guyevo, Zaoleshenka, Kazachya Loknya, the 1st Knyazhy, the 2nd Knyazhy, Kositsa, Loknya, Malaya Loknya, Makhnovka, Rubanshchina, Sudzha, Cherkasskaya Konopelka, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, and Yuzhny. Two counterattacks were repelled," the ministry added.
In all, the Ukrainian army has lost more than 65,930 troops, 387 tanks, 300 infantry fighting vehicles, 264 armored personnel carriers, 2,164 armored combat vehicles, 2,370 motor vehicles, 528 artillery guns, and 52 multiple rocket launchers since the start of combat operations in the Kursk Region, the ministry reported.
