US-led coalition’s aircraft violate Syrian airspace six times in past day

Oleg Gurinov, Deputy Head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, noted that the Russian Center for Reconciliation continues to monitor compliance with the ceasefire between the warring parties

MOSCOW, July 31. /TASS/. The US-led coalition’s fighter jets and drones violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area six times during the past day, Oleg Gurinov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Monday.

"One pair of the coalition’s F-16, two pairs of F-35 fighter jets and three MQ-1C multi-role unmanned aerial vehicles violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area, across which international air routes run, six times during the day," he said.

According to Gurinov, the coalition’s aircraft continue creating dangerous situations in the sky over Syria, violating deconfliction protocols. "Eight violations of the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019 linked with the flights by the coalition drones were reported in Syria in the past 24 hours," he said.

Apart from that, in his words, the Russian reconciliation center continues to monitor the ceasefire between the opposing parties. "During the day, one shelling attack on the positions of Syria’s government army was reported in the Idlib de-escalation zone from the positions of the Turkestan Islamic Party (outlawed in Russia)," he added.
