ST. PETERSBURG, July 30. /TASS/. African countries are not looking for any handouts, not a single request was submitted by them and the search for interesting projects is underway, Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters.
"Our African friends, they are not asking for any handouts. Moreover, both at the first summit and then in a bilateral format between the summits, and at this one, many said: ‘We did not come to beg,’" the Russian head of state said, noting that the search for interesting joint projects is underway.
The second Russia-Africa Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum was held on July 27-28 at the Expoforum venue in St. Petersburg under its traditional rubric: “For peace, security and development.” The event was organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
