MOSCOW, February 19. /TASS/. Russia’s defense ministry has refuted reports about the dismissal of officers of the 1st Donetsk and 2nd Lugansk army corps after they became part of the Russian army.

"The Russian defense ministry refutes reports from certain sources about alleged dismissal of officers of the 1st Donetsk and 2nd Lugansk army corps after their becoming part of the Russian Armed Forces," the ministry said on Sunday.

According to the ministry, these army corps were fully incorporated into the Russian Armed Forces from January 1, 2023. "We would like to stress that reports about alleged dismissal of officers of these army corps after they became part of the Russian army are absolutely untrue," the ministry stressed.

"Not a single order has ever been issued by the Russian defense ministry to dismiss servicemen of the 1st Donetsk army corps or 2nd Lugansk-Severodonetsk army corps," it said.

"All servicemen of these corps who became part of the Russian Armed Forces from January 1, 2023 conduct combat missions courageously and selflessly in the course of the special military operation," the ministry added.
