Opposition leader blames Venezuela’s authorities for blackout, calls for their ousting

The Venezuelan authorities earlier said that sabotage was behind the blackout across the country

CARACAS, March 8. /TASS/. Venezuela’s opposition leader Juan Guaido has pinned responsibility for the consequences of Venezuela’s blackout on the country’s authorities and called on his supporters to oust them, TASS reported from the scene on Friday.

"People died in hospital due to outages. This is real evil," the politician said at a rally in Caracas. "In order to defeat the evil, a change of power is needed."

The opposition leader added that he did not believe sabotage was behind the blackout across Venezuela as the government had claimed.

"We all know that the reason is the bad condition of the country’s power grid due to corruption in that field," Guaido added.
