MOSCOW, February 23. /TASS/. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall on Thursday. The traditional ceremony is dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, which Russia celebrates on February 23.

The Russian president attended the event alongside combat veterans, shaking hands with them before the ceremony began.

Putin spoke to veterans of military missions following the laying of wreaths, a minute of silence, and the performance of the national anthem.
