MOSCOW, December 31. /TASS/. Rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies and volunteers gathered about 70,000 metric tons of soil contaminated with petroleum products on the Black Sea coast after the shipwreck of two tankers, the ministry told TASS.
"From the start of activities, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies, representatives of Krasnodar Region municipalities and volunteers gathered and removed almost 70,000 metric tons of contaminated soil from the beach area.
Activities of gathering and removing soil polluted with fuel oil are now underway on the area with the total length of 63 km, the ministry added.
