Russian air defenses destroy 22 Ukrainian UAVs, intercept 13 more over Azov Sea, Crimea

"An attempt of the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of UAVs in the afternoon against facilities on the Russian territory was thwarted," according to the Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. The Kiev regime attempted this night to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) targeting facilities on the territory of Russia, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

"An attempt of the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of UAVs in the night against facilities on the Russian territory was thwarted," according to the ministry. "Air defense units on duty destroyed 22 Ukrainian UAVs and intercepted 13 more over the Sea of Azov and in the airspace over the Republic of Crimea."

The ministry stated that six Ukrainian UAVs over the Sea of Azov were detected at approximately 6:00 a.m. Moscow time (3:00 a.m. GMT) adding that "four of them were destroyed and two more intercepted."
