MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/. Russia’s Southern Military District will receive over 3,000 advanced weapon systems in 2022, Defense Minister Army General Sergey Shoigu said at a meeting with top commanders on Tuesday.
"This year, 30 organizational events will be held in the Southern Military District, over 3,000 advanced weapons and items of military hardware will be supplied and the construction of about 170 military infrastructure facilities will be built and put into operation," the defense minister said.
Training the District’s military command centers remains a priority and over 400 such measures have been planned for this year and more than 100 of them have already been held, Shoigu said.
Considerable attention is paid to healthcare and social guarantees in the Southern Military District, the defense chief said. "We continue providing the District’s personnel and their families with service and permanent housing. This year, 758 people have already received service apartments while 849 personnel have been provided with permanent housing," the defense minister said.
Building up the troop combat capabilities along with creating comfortable conditions of military service contributes to the army’s higher efficiency, Shoigu stressed.
