Support for Democratic Party among US voters drops to historic low 29%

The US Republican Party is favored by 36% of the respondents, while 48% view it negatively

NEW YORK, March 17. /TASS/. The favorability rating of the US Democratic Party has dropped to a historic low in the country and is now only 29%, according to a poll conducted on behalf of CNN.

This result is the worst for the party in the history of the polls, which have been conducted since 1992. A total of 54% of the respondents have a negative view of the Democrats. Among the party's supporters, only 48% of those surveyed believe that the party is moving in the right direction.

The US Republican Party is favored by 36% of the respondents, while 48% view it negatively. Among their supporters, 79% of those surveyed approve of the Republicans' policies.

The poll was conducted among 1,206 US citizens using random sampling from March 6 to March 9, with the margin of sampling error standing at 3.3 percentage points.

On November 5, 2024, Republican Donald Trump won the US presidential election, defeating Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris, who was serving as US vice president at the time. Republicans managed to take control of the US Senate and maintain a majority in the House of Representatives.
