Turkish president vows Syrian terrorist groups to be destroyed soon

The Turkish authorities have previously spoken of their intention to complete the creation of a 30-kilometer security zone in northern Syria to ensure control over the 600-kilometer joint border and minimize terrorist threats emanating from its territory

ISTANBUL, December 10. /TASS/. Terrorist groups now active in Syria will soon be completely crushed, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

"I hope that the terrorist organizations now active in Syria, such as the IS (the Islamic State terrorist group banned in Russia - TASS), as well as the Kurdistan Workers' Party [banned in Turkey], will soon be completely crushed," Erdogan said at a meeting with activists of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Ankara.

The Turkish authorities have previously spoken of their intention to complete the creation of a 30-kilometer security zone in northern Syria to ensure control over the 600-kilometer joint border and minimize terrorist threats emanating from its territory. Turkey considers the Kurdistan Workers' Party to be the main threat to its security.
