MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops are wreaking havoc while fleeing from the Kursk Region, targeting churches and other culturally significant sites on their way out, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Unfortunately, after our servicemen drive the enemy out of populated areas, they (Ukrainian forces - TASS), while leaving, destroy industrial, energy and cultural facilities. Even when they are already out [of the Kursk Region], they deliberately attack cultural heritage facilities and spiritual centers," the president emphasized at a meeting of the Presidential Council for Culture and Art.
"Just recently, our troops briefed me that they (the retreating Ukrainians - TASS) fired several dozen shells at one of the churches after they were forced to flee from a populated area," the supreme commander-in-chief said.
According to the president, "it is absolutely necessary to plan the restoration of these cultural facilities in advance." "It will definitely be one of the provisions of the decree that will be formulated as a result of our discussion with you today," Putin promised.
