MOSCOW, December 29. /TASS/. Flight safety must always come first, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Aeroflot CEO Sergey Alexandrovsky.
"I have heard many times that our citizens, and not only our citizens, travel and fly with some companies [airlines] and are waiting to move to Aeroflot planes, since the level of quality of service is kept at a particular level that has been achieved by the prior administration of Aeroflot. As a result, I ask that you pay attention to this," Putin said. "Of course, safety comes first, always," the president added.
Aleksandrovsky, in turn, stressed that flight safety is always a top priority for the company.
He added that Aeroflot Group plans to transport 47 mln passengers by the end of 2023, which is 15% higher than the figure for 2022. "In total, the Aeroflot group will transport 47 mln passengers in 2023. This is 15% higher than the results of the previous year," he said.
Aeroflot airline itself plans to transport 25 mln passengers in 2023, Rossiya Airline - 9mln, and low-cost carrier Pobeda - 13 mln.
At the same time, Aeroflot Group increased its share of the domestic air transportation market by 6 percentage points and carried 37.5 mln passengers in 2023, Alexandrovsky said. "With regard to transportation on the domestic Russian market, we increased our share by 6 percentage points and reached 37.5 mln passengers," he noted.
